Tamunosoye Karibi-George, a 26-year-old visionary advocate representing Bayelsa State, has been officially crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026.
The glamorous grand finale, themed Pride, Power, and Purpose, unfolded on Saturday night, June 6, 2026, at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, where Karibi-George beat out 20 other elite finalists to secure the coveted national crown.
With this definitive victory, the Port Harcourt-born queen will carry Nigeria’s national flag to the 73rd Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5, 2026.

Announcing the milestone on his official X handle on Sunday, Silverbird Group founder and former Bayelsa East Senator, Chief Ben Murray-Bruce, lauded the new queen’s exceptional intellect, poise, and philanthropic focus.
Karibi-George is the pioneer of the Beyond Labels initiative, a dedicated charitable organization that champions social inclusion, structural empowerment, and safe spaces for children living with special needs.

Karibi-George takes over the throne from Miss World Nigeria 2025, Joy Mojisola Raimi, who finished in the Top 20 globally and ranked among the top five contestants on the African continent during the previous edition in India.
