Afrobeats heavyweight David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared a definitive update on the creative direction of his next studio album.
Speaking in a revealing interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, the "Timeless" singer made it clear that his upcoming music will be a "deliberate and unapologetic" return to his African roots, moving away from Western sonic influences.
After a decade of successful global crossovers and high-profile international collaborations, Davido noted that he no longer feels the pressure to conform to foreign trends.
According to his conversation with Eddie Kadi, the Grammy-nominated artist feels he has already reached every major milestone and is now focused on creating music for himself and the continent.
"We've done it," Davido stated plainly, reflecting a sense of artistic freedom. "The next move is entirely for myself and for the continent that made me."
While a title and official release date remain under wraps, the singer is already gearing up for his first-ever self-produced London festival, Davido & Friends Fest, scheduled for August 14, 2026, at the Crystal Palace Bowl.
This upcoming phase is being described by industry insiders as his most purposeful yet, cementing his legacy as a global force that remains deeply anchored in Nigerian heritage.
