The controversy surrounding the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results has intensified following allegations of technical glitches and administrative irregularities raised by an official of the examination body.
Olanrewaju Fadehan, the Head of Examinations at the WAEC office in Anambra State, alleged in a viral video that candidates who participated in the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) version faced severe system discrepancies.
Fadehan claimed that last-minute score adjustments affected candidates in core subjects, including Mathematics, English, and Igbo.
He noted that after raising these concerns through petitions to the WAEC Board, the Ministry of Education, and the House of Representatives, he was placed on interdiction.
The allegations follow widespread complaints from school administrators regarding unexpected low grades awarded to high-performing students.
