The Ogun State Police Command has officially commenced a high-priority criminal investigation into the shocking and brutal double murder of a former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her personal security guard.
The horrific incident occurred at her private residence located in Iyana Agodo Village, within the Owode-Egba area of the state.
The tragedy came to light on Sunday, June 21, 2026, when an observant local resident raised an immediate alarm over highly suspicious movements around the perimeter of the compound, prompting emergency response teams to swiftly dispatch patrol officers to the scene.
Upon breaching the property, police detectives uncovered a grim crime scene that strongly pointed to a violent, premeditated targeted assault.
"Police detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary assessment revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance," Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed in a Sunday dispatch.
"During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was discovered within the security post, while the body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment."
The police command noted that the retired broadcaster's personal vehicle was completely missing from the compound, confirming that the perpetrators fled the scene in the stolen automobile.
Reacting to the gruesome murders, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members, the corporate management of OGTV, and the entire Nigerian media community.
Ojajuni issued a strict directive ordering intelligence-led tactical surveillance units to aggressively comb strategic regional escape routes to track down the fleeing killers and recover the stolen asset.
