"Very Few Nigerian Musicians Are Kind," Peller Claims in Viral Rant Against Music Stars
Popular TikToker and streamer Peller has sparked a heated debate online after sharing his candid thoughts on the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking during a recent livestream in Enugu, the content creator alleged that most Nigerian musicians lack genuine kindness and "don't rate" local media personalities.
Peller claimed that many top artists prioritize collaborations and interviews with foreign influencers and international media, only turning back to Nigerian streamers when their popularity begins to wane.
“Nigerian musicians don’t rate local streamers. They will be streaming with Americans, but when they don turn 'old taker,' na then dem go dey find Naija streamers up and down. I don catch their scope,” Peller stated during the session.
Despite his scathing review of the industry, Peller singled out three superstars for praise, identifying Davido, Olamide, and Tiwa Savage as the rare exceptions who have shown him kindness.
He urged Nigerian entertainers to embrace local influencers and home-grown media platforms regardless of their global success, rather than using them as a fallback plan.
The streamer's comments come at a time when the "Afrobeats to the World" movement has seen Nigerian stars increasingly focus on Western markets, occasionally at the expense of their local foundations.
