2027 Election: Benue People Will Judge Me by My Achievements, Says Governor Alia

The Benue State Government has declared that Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election prospects in 2027 will be determined strictly by his tangible achievements in infrastructure, worker welfare, and economic industrialization, rather than political rhetoric.

Responding to recent attacks from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and supporters of former Governor Samuel Ortom, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, accused opposition figures of relying on lies and political theatrics to distract the public.

Kula maintained that the current administration remains laser-focused on rebuilding Benue State after rescuing it from years of systemic decay and economic collapse.

Highlighting major governance milestones, Kula cited the recent execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hudson Global Ltd for a projected $5 billion investment aimed at transforming the state's economic landscape.

He listed ongoing urban and rural road projects, prompt payment of civil service salaries and pension gratuities, and the establishment of the Food Basket Bakery as clear evidence of growing investor and citizen confidence.

Kula sharply contrasted Governor Alia's administration with the previous government, alleging that Ortom left behind over 70 months of unpaid entitlements to pensioners, accumulated debts exceeding N300 billion, and over 1.5 million internally displaced persons.

He concluded that voters will ultimately decide the 2027 general elections at the ballot box based on development and accountability.

"2027 will not be decided by press statements, political theatrics or partisan spin. It will be decided by the people at the ballot box." — Sir Tersoo Kula, CPS to Governor Alia
