Grammy Award-winning music icon Lionel Richie, 77, has checked into a hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in St. Louis, Missouri, as a precautionary measure following a concert performance.
The American Idol judge checked himself into medical care shortly after finishing his Saturday, August 29 performance at The Muny in Forest Park.
Sources close to the production reported that Richie appeared to struggle near the end of his set, requesting a chair on stage to complete his hit song "All Night Long" while seated.
Medical staff in St. Louis are currently conducting tests to evaluate potential slight dehydration.
This latest incident follows a similar health scare in St. Paul, Minnesota, in late June, where Richie cut a show short after feeling dizzy on stage. Representatives report that the singer remains under observation as a precaution, with hopes of being discharged soon.
