FG Resumes Mass Terrorism Trials: Abuja Court Sentences 2 Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers to Life

The Federal Government of Nigeria has resumed its mass anti-terrorism trial program at the Federal High Court in Abuja, securing life imprisonment sentences for two key Boko Haram logistics operatives.

Presiding Judge Justice Salim Ibrahim sentenced Abba Mustapha and Bukar Ibrahim, both from Borno State, to life imprisonment alongside an additional 20-year term after they pleaded guilty to supplying logistics support and concealing information regarding Boko Haram operations.

Meanwhile, in Kebbi State, Justice Emmanuel Gakko convicted 19 individuals on charges including terrorism financing, unlawful possession of firearms, and electricity infrastructure vandalism following a 17-month intelligence-led investigation by the Kebbi State Police Command.

The ongoing mass trials, coordinated by the National Counter Terrorism Centre, aim to clear the judicial backlog of insurgency-related cases nationwide.

"The court sentenced each of them to 15 years’ imprisonment on each count... having established their connection with armed terrorist groups." — SP Bashir Usman, Kebbi Police Spokesman
