Afrobeats megastar Davido is facing widespread public backlash after launching an unprovoked verbal attack on rapper Erigga over comments regarding family wealth in the music industry.
The controversy began when Erigga posted a shoutout on X acknowledging self-made musicians who built their careers without family financial backing.
Quoting the post, Davido—whose father is billionaire business mogul Adedeji Adeleke—took offense and mocked Erigga's background while using insulting language.
Social media users swiftly called out the Unavailable crooner, accusing him of main character syndrome, low self-esteem, and unnecessary hostility toward a harmless motivational message meant for background-struggling artists.
