Nigerian street-pop artist Seyi Vibez has scrubbed all negative social media posts referencing celebrity chef Hilda Baci following a stern legal warning demanding an immediate cease-and-desist and a formal retraction.
The dispute escalated after Seyi Vibez publicly dragged Hilda Baci into his ongoing financial disagreement with his former record label, Dapper Music, owned by Baci's partner, Damilola Akinwunmi.
Seyi Vibez had leveled severe allegations against the record label, claiming an estimated N1 billion in unallocated catalog royalties was unaccounted for since his signing in 2022.
In response to being dragged into the royalty dispute, Hilda Baci issued a formal legal notice through her legal counsel.
The warning letter instructed the musician to immediately remove all defamatory posts concerning her from his social media channels and publish an unreserved public apology, failing which she would initiate full civil litigation.
Following receipt of the legal notice, a review of the singer's official accounts confirmed that all posts referencing Baci have been removed. However, the musician has yet to issue the public apology requested in the legal notice.
Seyi Vibez officially severed ties with Dapper Music in September 2024, updating his professional branding across platforms as an "Independent Artist." The artist has yet to release a follow-up statement regarding the ongoing catalog dispute.
