Justice Friday Ogazi of the Federal High Court in Lagos has directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to produce social media influencer and businessman Kazeem Afolabi, popularly known as "KC Luxury," following an ex-parte application challenging his 14-day detention without formal charges.
Afolabi was intercepted by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a flight to Paris.
The agency linked his arrest to an ongoing investigation into a 184.5kg cocaine shipment.
Through his counsel, A. Labi-Lawal (SAN), Afolabi filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit seeking immediate release or bail, claiming unlawful arrest, unconstitutional residence search without a warrant, and unauthorized circulation of his photographs while in custody.
He is demanding N190 million in total damages and the return of seized assets, including luxury watches, designer bags, foreign currencies, and vehicles. Justice Ogazi adjourned the substantive suit to September 9, 2026.
