FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta has officially ruled out any likelihood of Brazilian international winger Raphinha leaving the Catalan club during the current summer transfer window.
Laporta’s authoritative statement was aimed at dispelling viral media rumors suggesting that the forward was being forced out following a massive recruitment drive by the La Liga champions.
The heavy speculation surrounding Raphinha’s long-term future intensified significantly after Barcelona agreed to multi-million Euro deals to bring high-profile attackers Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi to Camp Nou.
Gordon was successfully signed from English Premier League side Newcastle United, while a total financial agreement was finalized with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund to secure the transfer of German prodigy Adeyemi.
"We do not want Raphinha to leave. He’s a key player for us. The arrivals of Gordon and Adeyemi are not linked to Raphinha, it doesn’t mean Rapha is leaving," Barcelona President Joan Laporta confirmed decisively.
