Former Big Brother Naija housemate Seyi Awolowo has opened up about his deliberate attempt to hide his famous lineage when auditioning for the reality show in 2019.
Speaking on The Nigerian Meter Podcast, the grandson of legendary statesman Chief Obafemi Awolowo explained that he wanted to compete and be evaluated purely on his individual merits rather than his family's political legacy.
However, Seyi revealed that his carefully laid plan was unexpectedly undone during the live launch show when host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu introduced him to the audience by his full name.

He noted that the moment Ebuka uttered "Seyi Awolowo" on stage, his strategy vanished, immediately alerting his fellow housemates and viewers to his famous background.
"My own plan was just to be there as Seyi, but immediately he mentioned it, my whole plan went away."
