Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has dismissed suggestions that Barcelona forwards Lamine Yamal and Raphinha contribute more to their team's success through defensive work rate, insisting his goalscoring record speaks for itself.
Speaking after Real Madrid's recent 1-0 defeat to Real Betis—where the French international missed a late spot-kick—Mbappe addressed media comparisons highlighting the press intensity of Barcelona's frontline.
The World Cup winner pointed out that he has netted 92 goals in all competitions for Los Blancos since arriving in mid-2024, far outstripping the combined tallies of Yamal (46) and Raphinha (61).
While acknowledging room for personal improvement, Mbappe stressed that every player brings distinct qualities to the pitch.
"Only me and Vini? I could play dumb and tell you that I score more than the two you mentioned... Everyone is different, but obviously, I still have to improve." — Kylian Mbappe
