A wave of insecurity has hit the Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State after a heavily armed terror gang executed a violent late-night assault on the Tsamiya community.
The attackers, who struck on Saturday, unleashed mayhem by firing sporadically through the town, subsequently setting ablaze a makeshift Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) checkpoint, a commercial brothel, and the private residence of a local citizen, Sule Mai Goge.
During the chaotic operation, the armed group abducted a prominent resident, Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare, before fleeing into the surrounding landscape.
The Kebbi State Police Command, acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, has initiated an aggressive tactical deployment of reinforcement personnel to the area to stabilize the town and protect vulnerable inhabitants.

"The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have commenced investigations and intensified operations aimed at rescuing the kidnapped victim and bringing the perpetrators to justice," Kebbi Police PRO, Bashir Usman, confirmed in a Sunday dispatch.
Local authorities are currently urging residents of Tsamiya and the surrounding border districts to remain calm and maintain a high level of vigilance, emphasizing that the command’s primary focus is the safe recovery of Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare.
Police investigators are combing the scorched crime scene for evidence to track the gang’s escape trajectory, promising that security patrols will be sustained until total normalcy is restored to the community.
