A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has handed down a definitive judicial sentence, condemning five high-profile terrorists—including two cross-border nationals from the Republic of Niger—to 25 years in prison each for their active logistics and execution roles in the November 21, 2025, mass attack on St. Mary’s Catholic Boarding School in Papiri, Niger State.
Presiding Judge, Justice Binta Nyako, delivered the heavy criminal sentence on Thursday, June 11, 2026, immediately after the defendants entered an absolute guilty plea to all four terrorism-related charges brought against them by state prosecutors.
The comprehensive charges centered around providing explicit material support for acts of mass terrorism, severely violating Section 16 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, alongside concurrent violations of the Firearms Act.
