The international music community has been plunged into deep mourning following the tragic death of British-Nigerian singer and multi-platinum songwriter Talay Riley, who was fatally stabbed in East London on Friday morning.
The 35-year-old artist, whose real name was Mark Yinka Orabiyi, was violently attacked at approximately 9:00 AM on Pankhurst Avenue in Silvertown.
Despite the rapid response of emergency medical services to the active scene, the Grammy Award-winning musician succumbed to his injuries, prompting homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command to instantly launch a comprehensive murder investigation.
In an official family statement, loved ones expressed overwhelming sadness, describing Orabiyi as a radiant light whose brilliant humor, boundless generosity, and creative presence would be permanently missed.

Talay, the older brother of top music producer Scribz Riley, enjoyed a highly decorated decade-long career in the global R&B industry, famously securing a major publishing deal with Global Publishing at age 18 before signing with Jive/Sony Records.
