Cristiano Ronaldo’s quest for his first domestic title in Saudi Arabia was dramatically put on hold Tuesday night following a 1-1 draw between Al Nassr and second-placed Al Hilal.
Al Nassr appeared to have the championship secured until the eighth minute of extra time when goalkeeper Bento accidentally fumbled a long throw-in into his own net.
The own goal silenced the home fans who were seconds away from celebrating a historic title win.
Despite the draw, Al Nassr remains five points ahead of Al Hilal, though the latter still holds a game in hand.
