Oyo Police Neutralize Robbery Suspect and Rescue Abducted Farmer in Iseyin

The Oyo State Police Command has recorded a dual victory against violent crime, neutralizing a robbery suspect in Iseyin and rescuing an abducted farmer in the Irawo area. 

The robbery was foiled at 2:00 am along Saki Road when detectives engaged five armed men who had invaded a residence. One suspect was killed, and two others were arrested, while several gang members escaped with injuries.

In a separate success, a coordinated team of police, Amotekun, and local hunters rescued farmer Quadri Oloriegbe, who was kidnapped on April 29.

Sustained bush-combing led to the arrest of Umaru Bokolo, whose confession helped locate the victim on May 5. 

Three additional suspects—Zada Abubakar, Husein Rabiu, and Abubakar Mohammed—have since been taken into custody.

According to Qubes Magazine, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Abimbola, credited the success to "intelligence-led surveillance" and the cooperation of local vigilante groups. 

The suspects are currently being processed by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for prosecution.
