English Premier League heavyweights Chelsea FC have officially announced the permanent departure of highly rated young forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
According to an official corporate statement published on the club's website on Thursday, June 18, 2026, the 20-year-old attacking prospect has successfully finalized a permanent transfer to English Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion, drawing a definitive close to his developmental stint in West London.
Morgan, who originally spent his formative football years rising through the ranks of the Chelsea Academy, made a high-profile return to Stamford Bridge from Southampton's youth setup back in February 2023.
To gain vital first-team minutes, the agile frontman was sent out on a series of developmental loans, spending the latter half of the 2024/2025 football season at League Two side Gillingham where he netted twice across 16 competitive appearances.

“Everybody at Chelsea wishes Jimmy-Jay the best of luck as he embarks on a new chapter in his career,” Chelsea Football Club stated in their official media release.
The young striker's stock scaled up massively during his most recent loan campaign with Peterborough United. Spearheading the Posh's frontline in League One, Morgan turned in an impressive individual return, smashing home 14 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Although Peterborough endured a tough collective run to finish 18th in the league standings, Morgan's clinical efficiency inside the final third caught the eye of West Bromwich Albion’s recruitment board. The Baggies moved swiftly to secure his long-term future, banking on his explosive potential to drive their upcoming promotion push.
