Operatives attached to the Delta State Police Command have arrested a commercial motorcyclist heavily suspected of abducting a three-year-old girl in the Ughelli area of the state.
The tactical arrest was part of a series of successful, proactive anti-crime operations launched by the command to rid local communities of kidnappers, cultists, and illegal firearms.
The successful security breakthroughs were confirmed in an official statement released on Thursday by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
According to police records, the principal suspect, identified as Kelvin Ogaga, was originally hired and trusted by the family to handle their daughter's daily school commutes.

The suspect betrayed that family trust on May 18, 2026, by diverting the child to a hidden location and demanding a ransom payment of N500,000 from her parents.
Acting swiftly on credible technical intelligence after the panicked family paid the money to secure the child's safe release, police operatives raided the suspect's Ughelli hideout.
"Recovered from him were the sum of N127,000, believed to be part of the ransom money, other valuables allegedly purchased with proceeds of the crime, and the motorcycle used in committing the offence," Edafe stated in his media brief.
In a related operational development, police patrol teams working along the Power Line axis by Bonsaac recovered a loaded Beretta pistol and an iPhone abandoned by a fleeing suspect during a routine stop-and-search drill.
Furthermore, operatives attached to the Ozoro Division apprehended a suspected member of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, Michael Monday, along Omovutotu Street.
A thorough search of his handbag led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size single-barrel gun and a live cartridge, prompting the state Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, to praise his officers for their quick, tactical responses.
