The Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere has formally admitted into evidence the voluntary written statements and video interrogation recordings of Benjamin Nnayereugo, the popular internet personality known online as “Killaboi.”
The defendant is currently standing trial for the brutal July 2023 murder of his 21-year-old girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe, at his residential apartment in the Ajah area of Lagos.
During Thursday’s judicial proceedings, the prosecution team, led by the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Adedayo Haroun, presented the Investigating Police Officer from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), DSP Oderinde Gafar.
The officer provided a detailed timeline of the complex international biometric tracking that led to the defendant's arrest.
Gafar told presiding Judge, Justice Ibironke Harrison, that the suspect fled Nigeria immediately after the crime, dodging authorities across West Africa before using forged documents to relocate to Doha.

"The defendant was arrested in Qatar through collaboration with relevant security agencies and subsequently extradited to Nigeria to face trial," Gafar testified in open court before the electronic interrogation tapes were played for the record.
The court also reviewed previous cross-examinations from the victim’s 56-year-old mother, Mrs. Cordelia Onuwabhagbe.
The grieving mother rejected claims made by the defense counsel, Mr. Marcel Oru (SAN), that her daughter was violent or engaged in illicit transactional relationships.
She maintained that Nnayereugo had physically abused her daughter during a previous vacation in the Seychelles before ultimately stabbing her to death in Lagos.
Justice Harrison has officially adjourned further hearing on the high-profile homicide case to June 17 and 18, 2026, to allow the state to present its final witness.
