Popular celebrity businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, universally known as Cubana Chief Priest, has clarified that he did not participate in the All Profiling Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State.
The entertainment mogul debunked widespread social media speculations claiming he suffered an embarrassing defeat at the polls.
Taking to his official Instagram page on Sunday, Okechukwu explained that he chose to step down voluntarily from the legislative race ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This decision came after a closed-door meeting with the Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, who carefully detailed the party’s binding internal zoning agreements.

According to the businessman, Governor Uzodimma pointed out that it was politically inequitable for Okechukwu's local government area to contest the seat at this point in time.
The governor noted that Orlu Local Government Area must complete at least two consecutive terms before the legislative seat rotates, especially since Okechukwu's older brother, Asiwaju Jerry Alagboso, had previously represented the federal constituency for three terms.
Clarifying his total absence from the election venue, Okechukwu wrote:
“In respect for the party and its leadership, I chose not to proceed to the field, and indeed, I never did. Nobody will say they saw me anywhere around the primaries venue. In fact I did not participate. As I headed straight back to Lagos. Immediately the party’s decision was communicated to me in the early hours of Saturday before the primaries, I stayed away completely.”
The socialite revealed that his initial determination to contest against the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, was purely motivated by widespread concerns that the current representative was failing to meet the core development aspirations of the local constituents.
He dismissed online narratives surrounding his supposed "14 votes loss" as coordinated mischief and cheap propaganda sponsored by political detractors.
Okechukwu firmly denied owing any campaign mobilizers or youth groups money, stating that his short-lived political project was entirely self-funded out of a desire for community service.
He concluded by receiving a public message of encouragement from Seyi Tinubu, while promising to use his City Boy Movement to continuously mobilize heavy grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political future.
