A 20-year-old student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Wednesday provided a harrowing account of her alleged sexual assault by a 53-year-old lecturer, Samuel Obinna Ojogbo.
Testifying before Justice Oyindamola Ogala at the Lagos State High Court, the student detailed how the incident occurred on August 22, 2025, inside the defendant's office at the Akoka campus.
The witness narrated amidst tears that Ojogbo had invited her to his office after an examination.
She alleged that once inside, the lecturer forced her onto a couch and raped her.
The survivor further claimed that Ojogbo attempted to silence her by making promises regarding her final-year project supervision.
Despite initial attempts by some university officials to discourage her from pursuing the case, the student reported the matter to Servicom, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, and the police.
The defense is set to cross-examine the witness when the trial resumes on April 27, 2026.
