The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps has officially declared Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted following allegations of illegally selling military uniforms and accoutrements to terrorist groups and criminal elements.
Statement released by Ordnance Corps spokesperson, Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, revealed that Private Amutu absconded from his unit at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory on June 3, prompting an internal security investigation.
Military authorities expressed deep concern over the unauthorized circulation of official attire, noting that insurgent and bandit groups frequently use authentic military uniforms to disguise themselves, bypass security checkpoints, and execute attacks.

The Army reiterated its zero-tolerance policy regarding internal corruption or collaboration with non-state armed actors, appealing to members of the general public to report any information leading to Amutu's apprehension.
"Preliminary investigations indicate that the soldier absconded from his unit on June 3. Consequently, he has been declared wanted, while intensive efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him to face investigation and appropriate disciplinary action."
