An Ogun-based brick moulder, Israel Ayomide, has been tragically killed following a heated argument over a ₦200 dispute at a block industry in the Ota area.
The suspect, a local hoodlum popularly known as "Aboy," reportedly stabbed the 22-year-old victim to death in the early hours of April 1, 2026, at the Ori-Ade Block Industry in Ewupe community.
According to Punch news, the victim's father, the altercation began when the suspect demanded ₦200 from Ayomide.
When Ayomide refused, a fight ensued, during which "Aboy" allegedly used a bottle to stab the victim before fleeing the scene.
Ayomide was rushed to a nearby health centre but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Residents have accused the Onipanu Police Division of intimidation, claiming that community leaders who reported the case were detained while the suspect remains at large.
However, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, dismissed claims of shielding the suspect, stating that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing 23-year-old.
