Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk is facing heavy criticism from former Turkey international Erman ToroÄŸlu following the team's dip in form since Victor Osimhen’s arm injury.
The Nigerian superstar was sidelined during the second leg of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield in March, leaving a massive void in the Yellow-Reds' attack.
Since Osimhen’s absence, Galatasaray has struggled for consistency, securing only one win in their last three league matches.
This poor run includes a 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor and a 1-1 draw with Kocaelispor.
ToroÄŸlu argued that Buruk has failed to manage the squad effectively, marginalizing Mauro Icardi in favor of the Nigerian international.
“There was Icardi, there was Osimhen, there was Okan Buruk. Now Osimhen is absent, Okan Buruk is absent. It’s that straightforward,” ToroÄŸlu remarked.
Osimhen has reportedly resumed training and is expected to return before the end of April.
Fans are hopeful he will be fit for the high-stakes derby against Fenerbahçe, which could decide the direction of the title race.
