The Adamawa/Taraba Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the seizure of contraband items with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) exceeding ₦98 million.
The operations, conducted over the last six weeks, targeted petroleum products, illegal drugs, and animal products along key smuggling routes.
Comptroller Mohammed Tanko detailed the successes in a press conference in Yola, noting that on March 12, officers intercepted 509 pieces of raw donkey skin and 460kg of dried donkey meat along the Mubi-Sangere axis.
Additionally, over 32,000 litres of Petrol (PMS) and 2,800 litres of Diesel (AGO) were recovered from various border points, including the Toungo-Ganye and Likitaba-Gembu axes.
The command also intercepted five cartons of 200mg Viagra tablets and 43 jumbo sacks of second-hand clothing.
Comptroller Tanko reaffirmed the NCS's commitment to crippling smuggling networks that threaten the national economy.
