"The Referee Was Right" – Luis Diaz Defends Camavinga’s Controversial Red Card in UCL Clash

Referee Slavko Vinčić showing red card to Eduardo Camavinga during Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

Bayern Munich star Luis Diaz has backed referee Slavko Vinčić’s decision to send off Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga during Wednesday night’s high-stakes UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Real Madrid was eliminated after a 4-3 defeat, despite an early lead fueled by Arda Güler and Kylian Mbappe.

The turning point of the match occurred in the 86th minute when Camavinga received a second yellow card for delaying a restart.

Diaz told El Chiringuito that the Frenchman intentionally held onto the ball to prevent Bayern from taking a quick free-kick.

“The referee was right to send Camavinga off. We wanted to take the free kick quickly and he didn’t release the ball,” Diaz insisted.

The dismissal proved fatal for Los Blancos, shifting the momentum in favor of the Bundesliga giants who now progress to the semi-finals.
