Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have uncovered two illegal warehouses used for repackaging counterfeit pharmaceutical products, arresting two suspects linked to an interstate and cross-border drug distribution network.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani disclosed during a press briefing at the Violent Crime Response Unit in Ijora Olopa that suspects Eze Okwudilichukwu, 52, and Chukwudi Mba, 42, were apprehended at a facility in Otto Causeway.
Subsequent searches led detectives to a secondary warehouse and a Katsina-bound truck loaded with over 300 cartons of fake Omeprazole, alongside unpackaged quantities of counterfeit Viagra, Ampiclox, Septrin, and Piriton.

Police investigations revealed that the syndicate operated for over two years, supplying adulterated pharmaceuticals across Nigeria and exporting consignments to Lomé, Togo.
CP Tijani noted that police rejected financial inducement attempts to compromise the investigation before transferring the suspects, evidence, and case files to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for prosecution.
