Hajj 2027: Lagos State Pilgrim Board Sets September 26 Deadline for Final Payment

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially fixed ₦7,882,822.00 as the comprehensive final fare for intending pilgrims traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The newly approved figure reflects a slight reduction from the ₦7.9 million benchmark charged during the previous operational year.

In an official briefing, the Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, credited the cost reduction to the strategic interventions of Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, Chairman and CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Ajomagberin urged all registered and prospective pilgrims across the state to complete their full payments on or before the September 26, 2026 deadline established by NAHCON to allow for seamless processing of travel documentation.

He further assured pilgrims that the state government remains dedicated to delivering premium accommodation, welfare services, local transportation, medical support, and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) packages throughout their stay in Makkah and Madinah.

"The credit for this reduction goes to the NAHCON Chairman, who since assuming office has pledged to work towards reducing the Hajj fare and making the exercise seamless for Nigerian pilgrims." — AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, Board Secretary
