The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is trending across business portals, youth forums, and national news outlets following the official launch of the Building Resilient Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs (BRYNE) Project.
Unveiled by SMEDAN Director-General Charles Odii to mark International Youth Day 2026, the ambitious initiative is designed to support more than 100,000 young entrepreneurs annually across Nigeria.
The program provides a structured pipeline of business incubation, enterprise training, mentorship, digital growth tools, and direct access to finance.
Interest surged among young business owners after details revealed the project's multi-channel framework:
SMEDAN Incubation Programme: Supporting 600 entrepreneurs annually in specialized sectors like fashion, agriculture, and woodwork through SMEDAN's Industrial Development Centres.
Campus Enterprise Engagement Platform: Partnering with the Federal Ministry of Education to extend workshops, advisory services, and business exhibitions to tertiary institutions, targeting up to 3,000 student entrepreneurs per campus.
BRYNE Digital Connect & Hackathons: Offering digital business training while hosting weekly startup hackathons where 52 selected winners will each receive ₦250,000 in seed capital, alongside access to broader financial grants and low-interest expansion funding.
