Donald Trump Jokes About Running for Fourth Term During White House Correspondents' Dinner

United States President Donald Trump drew smiles and raised eyebrows after lightheartedly suggesting he might run for a fourth term in office during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Addressing journalists and political figures at the annual event celebrating press freedom and journalistic excellence, Trump quipped about extending his tenure in the White House beyond constitutional limits, despite the 22nd Amendment restricting US presidents to two elected terms.

The lighthearted remark came during a keynote address at the rescheduled gala, which had been postponed three months prior following a shooting incident near the capital.

Trump used the traditional roast setting to deliver jabs at media outlets while poking fun at political norms surrounding presidential term limits, maintaining his characteristic rally-style rhetoric in front of the press corps.

"I’m running for a fourth term as President of the United States."
