CP Garba Bosso Vows Continuous Offensive Against Violent Cultists and Killers

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have successfully arrested 12 high-profile suspects linked to kidnapping, violent cultism, and murder across local communities.

The major tactical breakthrough led to the successful rescue of three abducted victims before their ruthless captors could extract a massive N50 million ransom payment.

The coordinated crackdown, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Bosso, followed separate intelligence-driven operations conducted between June 27 and June 30, 2026.

Security files revealed that the crisis began with the violent abduction of five transit passengers on Obokofia Road in Egbema, alongside the separate kidnap of a young man in the New Owerri axis.

Acting on highly credible tips, police teams led by ACP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, in conjunction with the Egbema Division, raided a remote forest hideout in Obokofia within the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, uncovering a syndicate that had already collected N5 million from a victim's family.

"Three victims were rescued unharmed. Seven alleged members of the kidnapping syndicate were picked up at Obokofia.

They include Eric John, alias 'Yahoo Welder', 30, of Delta State; Light Chukwuma, 18; Obinna Osuamma, 18; Sylvester Nnadike, 60; Tochukwu Precious, 22; Destiny Albert, 22; and Caroline Oziomele, 25," police command logs confirmed.

During the swift tactical raid, several members of the armed gang managed to flee into neighboring thickets and are currently being aggressively trailed by counter-terrorism units.

Heavy combat exhibits recovered from the scene include one AK-47 assault rifle, two locally made double-barrel guns, four locally made pistols, live ammunition cartridges, an unbadged blue Toyota Highlander SUV, an ash-colored Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV, and multiple branded cult caps.

CP Bosso reaffirmed that the Command will heavily sustain its current offensive by deepening ties with community vigilance groups and regional stakeholders.
