Emeka Ike Slams Women Who Utilize Intimate Relationships as Income Sources

Veteran Nollywood star and legendary screen actor Emeka Ike has sparked heavy cultural debates across the West African entertainment landscape after describing the habit of dating primarily for financial gain as nothing short of a "romantic scam" and transactional fraud.

In an exclusive video interview granted to BBC Pidgin, the iconic movie star expressed deep concern over the shifting paradigms of modern dating and marriage customs in Nigeria.

Ike argued that a growing demographic of contemporary young women are actively entering into romantic courtships with the premeditated, hidden motive of raising capital and treating their male partners as financial lifelines, leaving the men entirely unaware of the underlying material motivations.

"Love and marriage is not scam. But there are a few hungry people who are using relationship as meal tickets. That’s where it becomes a scam... A lot of girls are going into relationships because of what they want to get from the man. They should just join street-begging instead of using relationship to raise money. Relationship is supposed to be sacred," Emeka Ike asserted during his interview segment.

The veteran performer noted that love should remain the beautiful, foundational pillar of any enduring home or relationship, urging youth to stop debasing the sanctity of courtship through deceptive financial expectations.

He strongly advised women seeking income streams to explore legitimate career fields or openly resort to street begging rather than manipulating the emotions of unsuspecting partners.

His raw commentary adds a sharp, traditional perspective to ongoing celebrity relationship discourses, paralleling recent statements by media figures on the true nature of modern socio-economic partnerships.
