The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that its internal technical and administrative directorates are working at an accelerated pace to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) rigid July 11 statutory deadline for the official submission of presidential and National Assembly candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A senior member of the party's National Working Committee (NWC), speaking on the strict basis of confidentiality, disclosed that data processing within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department at the Muhammadu Buhari House national headquarters in Abuja is at an advanced phase.
The ruling party's technical desk is scheduled to officially upload the mandatory Form EC9 nomination documentation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his designated vice-presidential running mate by the middle of the week.

"We are progressing smoothly with the uploading of the details of our National Assembly candidates. We hope that on or before next Wednesday, we shall upload the details of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate. We are completely sure of meeting the July 11 deadline for uploading all our candidates on the INEC portal," the party insider confirmed.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, noted that the final stretch towards the nomination deadline followed a highly complex review of the party's shadow primary elections.
The NWC recently transmitted a thoroughly revised candidate roster to INEC after removing 6 senatorial and 19 House of Representatives aspirants who had initially emerged victorious during the May primaries.
This strategic modification, which shook up constituencies across states like Kogi, Ondo, Kaduna, and Kwara, came on the heels of over 700 petitions evaluated by the party's Primary Election Appeal Committee. Despite the deep internal shakeups, the final submission retained prominent political stalwarts, including serving governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), who all successfully clinched tickets to contest for Senate seats.
