The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the non-existent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has uncovered at least 29 forged official documents, including letters bearing the forged signature of Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The panel's chairman, Yusuf Gagdi, disclosed the findings during a hearing attended by the Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, and representative of the Inspector-General of Police, ACP Bashir Abdullahi.
The suspect at the center of the probe, self-acclaimed Director-General Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, was arrested in Osun State on July 15 after evading court appearances.

Police confirmed that Mathew faces an eight-count charge before the Federal High Court for allegedly using the fake council to secure Federal Secretariat office space, attempt to insert $1.3 billion into the 2026 Appropriation Bill, and request approval to recruit 300 staff.
The committee has summoned 13 civil servants across key ministries alongside the suspect to testify.
