Tragedy and anger have gripped the fashion and entertainment community in Plateau State following the death of popular Nigerian model and professional chef Ibrahim Mbaya, widely known as "Ibee."
The young creative, who was an active contestant in the Mr. and Miss Glam Nigeria 2026 pageant, died from severe injuries sustained during a brutal mob attack in the Ring Road area of Jos North Local Government Area.
According to reports, the violent encounter took place after individuals accused Mbaya of stealing an iPhone. Despite his repeated denials and protests of innocence, an angry mob took the law into their own hands rather than turning him over to law enforcement authorities.

The attackers subjected Mbaya to a prolonged, severe beating using various weapons.
Although bystanders eventually rushed the critically injured model to a local hospital in Jos for emergency medical treatment, he succumbed to his severe physical injuries shortly after arrival.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread condemnation across social media, with citizens calling on the Plateau State Police Command to identify, arrest, and prosecute every individual involved in the violent attack.
"The chef and contestant for Mr. and Miss Glam Nigeria 2026 had denied the allegation. However, instead of handing him over to relevant authorities, some people took laws into their hands and subjected him to a brutal assault."
