Afrobeats and street-hop sensation Omoniyi Temidayo, professionally known as Zlatan Ibile, has announced a massive return to his alma mater, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), for a special "Homecoming" event.
Slated to take place on July 1, 2026, at the MAPOLY Sports Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the high-profile event features an entirely free live concert for the student community alongside the official unveiling of a state-of-the-art music recording studio financed by the artist.
Zlatan, who attended the polytechnic in the early 2010s before his breakout into national stardom, shared the emotional motivation behind the project with his millions of followers on Instagram.
The "Zanku" pioneer credited the institution as the foundational testing ground where he honed his energetic, street-influenced sound, freestyled with classmates, and built his very first loyal fan base. He described the campus show as his first major collegiate performance of the year, framed as a celebration of shared dreams and persistent hunger.
"MAPOLY made me before the world knew my name. Same ground, same dream, same hunger that carried me everywhere. Now I’m coming back home," Zlatan expressed in an emotional post.
The announcement has triggered widespread excitement across the polytechnic's student community and the wider Ogun State entertainment scene.
Campus administrators and student union leaders have lauded the move as a stellar example of an alumnus leveraging personal success to create practical creative infrastructure for the next generation of talent.
Security and logistic teams are reportedly being finalized at the sports center to ensure a safe, high-octane experience for thousands of expected attendees.
