Singer Spyro Reveals Strict Personal Rules Against Smoking and Nudity

Nigerian Afrobeats singer and hitmaker, Spyro, has outlined the strict moral and religious regulations governing his music career, asserting that he maintains unyielding standards on on-screen conduct, lyrical content, and industry collaborations.

Speaking during a recent television interview on TVC, the Who Is Your Guy star made it clear that he does not permit smoking, drug references, or partial nudity in any music videos he features in, nor does he allow himself to be associated with projects that promote inappropriate or sexually explicit themes.

The singer described these guidelines as non-negotiable conditions for any domestic or international partnership. Spyro noted that he routinely declines lucrative feature requests on songs that do not align with his clean branding.

Recalling a recent collaboration with rising artist Shoday on the track Sweet, Spyro revealed that he actively reached out to his colleague to challenge the suggestive tone of the song's digital promotion, using the moment to encourage him to embrace Christianity.

"You can’t be in a video with me and you’re smoking. That can’t happen. You can’t be in a video with me and you’re naked. That won’t happen," Spyro stated. "I can’t be on a song that is not clean, to start with."

Spyro added that he views his presence in the highly competitive Nigerian secular music industry primarily through a faith lens, viewing his platform as an evangelical tool.

While Shoday reportedly responded that each artist should focus on their independent paths for the time being, Spyro expressed firm optimism that more entertainers will eventually align with Christian beliefs over time.

He maintained that his creative journey remains guided by his deep personal convictions as he continues to balance commercial appeal with spiritual boundaries.
