President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confidently declared that the era of neglected and discarded national infrastructure projects is permanently over under his administration, emphasizing a strict execution model focused on delivering multi-billion naira projects that actively catalyze economic growth, create massive employment, and uplift citizen livelihoods.
Speaking through the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpapio, during the grand inauguration of the critical main carriageways of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) stretching between Ring Road I and Ring Road II in Abuja, the President framed the highway delivery as a monumental milestone within his administration's signature Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu heavily lauded the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his fierce, results-driven leadership style and continuous oversight of elite contractors, including CGC Nigeria Limited, who successfully met their rigorous project timelines.
Minister Wike revealed that approximately 80 percent of the engineering and structural developments completed under his watch since 2023 were inherited from previous administrations, arguing that true leadership requires continuity rather than launching completely new initiatives for political vanity.
The newly commissioned expressway is strategically structured to permanently eliminate heavy gridlock, drastically minimize travel windows, and expand Abuja's commercial layout, while the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, hailed the development as a definitive validation of the FCT modernisation agenda.
