The Imole Campaign Council, the official re-election machinery of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has launched a fierce counter-offensive against the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), heavily accusing the opposition party of entirely abandoning issue-based politics in favor of cheap blackmail, intimidation tactics, and malicious misinformation.
Issuing a formal press briefing on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the spokesperson for the campaign council, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, strongly dismissed allegations by the APC claiming that Governor Adeleke was utilizing state security votes to finance private family business interests, labeling the report as a mischievous and politically motivated hit job.
Olajengbesi clarified that since assuming executive office in 2022, Adeleke has maintained an unblemished record of transparency and accountability, an achievement recently validated by BudgIT Nigeria, which rated the administration highly for its prudent management of public resources.
Defending the state's security infrastructure, the spokesman outlined monumental investments injected into the state-backed Amotekun Corps, including the construction of an ultra-modern operational headquarters, the recruitment and training of over 1,100 new security cadets, and the regular payment of civil servant salaries.
Olajengbesi asserted that the opposition's baseless attacks are a desperate ploy to distract security agencies from their core mandate of protecting citizens, expressing total confidence that Osun residents will vote overwhelmingly for continuity based on the governor’s visible infrastructural footprint.
