This sweeping security directive comes as the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) officially commenced an indefinite, full-scale industrial strike action to protest the slow rescue of dozens of schoolchildren and tutors abducted exactly 16 days ago from three public academic institutions within the Esiele and Yawota communities.
The critical security updates were made public via an official executive dispatch signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, following a high-powered federal condolence and assessment visit to the affected zone on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
