More than eighty percent of the local population displaced during a horrific, bloody terrorist onslaught on the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have successfully returned to their ancestral homes.
The massive reverse migration was officially disclosed by the village head, Alhaji Umar Bio Salihu, who spoke to correspondents in Kaiama, the administrative council headquarters.
The traditional ruler attributed the gradual and highly successful stabilization of the rural community to heavily upgraded security architectures and targeted post-crisis structural interventions executed by the Kwara State Government.
Recalling the sheer brutality of the February 3 attack, Alhaji Salihu described how the insurgents razed down forty-nine commercial shops, six residential buildings, and the royal palace, going as far as locking several helpless victims inside a room, dousing them with petrol, and burning them alive.

While the traditional ruler is currently executing his duties from Kaiama pending the physical reconstruction of his palace—a project for which Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has already promptly released funds—he noted that extensive sanitization and fumigation programs handled by the state eradicated the public health hazards left behind by the massacre.
To solidify the peace, the state government collaborated with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Red Cross, and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide new boreholes and relief packages.
While economic activities are picking up heavily on Sunday market days under the protection of a joint team of military personnel, mobile police, and forest guards, Alhaji Salihu called on the Federal Government to permanently locate a military base or Air Force installation within the vast national park forest buffer zone to permanently deny criminal elements a safe haven.
