The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Prince Ned Nwoko, has launched a fierce public attack against the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging deep political betrayal and a breach of trust regarding agreements made prior to his high-profile party switch.
Speaking during an explosive live interview on Arise TV, the embattled federal lawmaker claimed he was intentionally misled by top party executives before defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier in 2025.
Nwoko revealed that during his exit from the PDP—which he abandoned due to irreconcilable internal factions—he held high-level strategic entry negotiations with the then-National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to Nwoko, the APC hierarchy explicitly promised him an automatic, uncontested return ticket to the Senate as a condition for his defection. However, the internal political alignments completely shifted when the former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, also crossed over to the ruling APC months later.
During the recently concluded APC Delta North Senatorial Primary elections, Okowa secured a resounding landslide victory, polling a massive 113,309 votes to soundly defeat Nwoko, who managed only 2,612 votes.
Rejecting the primary results in their entirety, Senator Nwoko insisted that the entire electoral exercise was aggressively manipulated by party structures, lamenting that preferred treatment was wrongfully shifted to Okowa despite previous statutory guarantees.
