The Ondo State Police Command has arrested six suspects following an intensive investigation into the fraudulent sale and unauthorized title transfer of three heavy-duty operational vehicles valued at over N71 million.
The successful anti-fraud operation was officially confirmed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, in an administrative statement issued on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Adeola Kolawole (56), Alhaji Gani Bello (73), Oladoja Akeem (56), Wasiu Adigun (55), Azeez Yusuf (49), and Ojo Mudasiru (40).
According to police briefs, the criminal matter was formally reported on May 22, 2026, by an Ondo resident, Paul Aderemi, who stated that he purchased a low-loader truck, a tipper truck, and a small utility truck in May 2025, subsequent to which he entrusted the entire fleet to the principal suspect, Adeola Kolawole, under a strict operational agreement.

The complainant later discovered that the vehicles had been covertly liquidated without his executive authorization.
Acting on precise tracking data, detectives attached to the Fagun Division tracked down and apprehended Kolawole, who subsequently confessed to selling the heavy-duty fleet to Alhaji Gani Bello in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, highly commended the investigating officers for their interstate professional collaboration, reassuring residents that all six suspects will be swiftly charged to a court of competent jurisdiction upon the extraction of final recovery statements.
