The Ogun State Police Command has successfully apprehended two high-profile fugitives in the Ijebu-Ode region, directly linking them to a highly sensitive case of kidnapping and cold-blooded double murder currently under active investigation in the Okada axis of Edo State.
Revealing the major breakthrough in an official press release on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the critical arrest materialized after alert personnel of the Nigeria Forest Security Service intercepted two suspicious individuals in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode, prompting an immediate hand-over to specialized police operatives.
The police identified the detained suspects as Gafaru Adamu, 25, and Muhammed Sanni, 20.
Preliminary profiling and intelligence data matching revealed that the duo belong to an elusive, notorious seven-man kidnapping syndicate operating across regional borders.

A thorough body search conducted by the state’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit yielded a set of police camouflage uniforms and three mobile smartphones, which have been documented as active criminal exhibits.
Reacting to the development, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, highly commended the operational synergy, stating that because the capital offenses were committed outside his immediate jurisdiction, the suspects and recovered items will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command for primary prosecution.
CP Ojajuni reiterated his unyielding resolve to prevent Ogun State from being utilized as a criminal transit hub or safe haven.
