Marcus Rashford Set for Familiar Role in England's 2026 World Cup Campaign

Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have inadvertently stolen the spotlight from the English Football Association by leaking the official international squad numbers of Red Devils stars Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup.

While the English FA had scheduled the grand structural unveiling of the Three Lions' complete squad numbers for 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Manchester United’s media unit published an early graphic showcasing the numbers allocated to all 13 of their international representatives heading to the global showpiece.

According to the early confirmation, elite forward Marcus Rashford will proudly retain the iconic number 11 shirt, which he previously donned during the 2021 European Championships and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Rashford has a historical affinity for various squad shirts, having worn number 19 at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and number 22 during Euro 2016.

Meanwhile, teenage midfield sensation Kobbie Mainoo has been officially handed the number 16 jersey for the tournament in North America.

This represents a significant tier upgrade for Mainoo, who previously wore the number 26 shirt during his breakout major international tournament debut for the Three Lions at Euro 2024.
