Bizarre Adultery Raid: Kebbi Hisbah Finds Secret Lover Hidden Inside Bag in Married Woman's Bedroom

Field operatives attached to the Kebbi State Hisbah Board—an institutional enforcement agency operating under the state’s Ministry of Religious Affairs—have apprehended an adult male who was caught concealing himself inside a large "Ghana-Must-Go" storage bag inside the private residence of a married woman.

The unconventional security operation took place during the early hours of Monday, May 18, in the Badariya neighborhood, a residential community located within the metropolitan boundaries of Birnin Kebbi.

Local community vanguards grew highly suspicious after monitoring the movements of an unfamiliar male figure who slipped into the married woman's matrimonial home under the cover of darkness at approximately 12:15 a.m., while her husband was away.

Sensing a severe violation of neighborhood ethics and traditional Sharia codes, the local residents quickly formed a perimeter and filed an emergency distress call to the regional Hisbah desk.

A tactical enforcement squad was deployed to the scene to carry out a formal civil-religious investigation.

Detailing the tense moments during the residential search, the Director of Sharia at the Kebbi Hisbah Board, Sirajo Kamba, informed journalists:

"The residents suspected an illicit affair contrary to Islamic teachings, hence their decision to formally notify the authority. Upon receiving the report, the Kebbi Hisbah Board swiftly deployed officers to investigate.

When officers arrived, they requested permission to search the house, but the woman initially denied that anyone was inside.

However, she later obliged and allowed a thorough search, which led to the discovery of the male suspect completely concealed inside a 'Ghana-Must-Go' bag. Further interrogation revealed an ongoing illicit romantic relationship between the duo."

According to official administrative briefs, both suspects have since signed written confessions admitting to the allegations of extra-marital misconduct during preliminary processing at the agency's headquarters.

The Hisbah Board confirmed that case files are currently being processed, and both individuals will face formal arraignment before a competent Sharia Court to face legal proceedings dictated under Islamic jurisprudence.

The incident marks a wider, ongoing moral enforcement crackdown across Northern Nigeria.

Just last week, the neighboring Kano State Hisbah Board executed a similar morality raid, arresting a 35-year-old fish merchant, Ali Abubakar, alongside a 28-year-old female national from the Niger Republic inside a commercial room, as state authorities continue to stiffen penalties against public and private indecency.
