Gunmen Attack Kwara Prayer Ground, Kill Three and Abduct 15 Worshippers

The Kwara State Police Command has officially confirmed a horrific security breach in the Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, where heavily armed bandits invaded a Christian prayer ground, killing three worshippers on the spot and forcefully abducting 15 others.

The gruesome attack has triggered widespread panic, sending shockwaves through the surrounding rural communities.

The violent incident occurred late Saturday night at Ori-Oke Ajaiye, an isolated religious retreat center located on the extreme outskirts of Ikiran Village, along the volatile Ikerin/Ajuba axis.

Eyewitness sources revealed that a large gang of unidentified terrorists stormed the venue under the cover of darkness, firing sporadic, indiscriminate gunshots into the gathering.

Terrified congregation members scrambled into the surrounding bushes in different directions to escape the flying bullets, leaving families searching frantically for missing loved ones well into Sunday morning.

Confirming the tragedy in an official press release issued on Sunday in Ilorin, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, has strongly condemned the attack, describing it as entirely gruesome and unacceptable.

The incident was formally reported to the police by Pastor Adebayo Abiodun of the *Ijo Ajaye Ati Igbala* ministry in Ekerin Village, who was leading his congregation through an intensive night vigil program when the armed killers struck.

"While conducting a night vigil alongside members of his congregation at Ori-Oke Ijaye via Ekerin village, armed hoodlums invaded the prayer ground, firing sporadically," the official police statement read.

CP Adekimi Ojo confirmed that while three bodies were recovered from the scene, 15 victims were dragged off into the deep forest reserves by the fleeing bandits.

The Divisional Police Officer for the Ekiti Division immediately mobilized frontline operatives to secure the perimeter.

The CP has further ordered the deployment of a high-powered rescue mission comprising the Police Drone Team, Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel, and specialized intelligence units to hunt down the perpetrators and secure the unconditional release of the captives.
